Dr. Bec Bowring

Dr. Bec Bowring has been practising chiropractic for more than 30 years, with a special interest in babies and children, pregnancy and women’s health, and the relationship between structure, function, airway and sleep.

A major focus of Bec’s professional development has been Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and Craniopathy. Alongside her clinical work, she has contributed extensively to SOT education and professional development, including previously serving as Chief of the Board of Examiners for SOT Australasia. Her commitment to community care has also extended internationally through her volunteer work with Hands On India.

Bec’s interest in the connection between chiropractic, craniofacial development and oral function began early in her career. Since 1994, she has studied Chirodontics under Drs Bob Walker and Kaye McArthur, developing an interdisciplinary understanding of the relationship between the cranium, jaw, bite, airway, and wider musculoskeletal and neurological systems.

Bec takes a whole-person holistic approach to care, recognising that different aspects of health and development are often interconnected. Where appropriate, she works collaboratively with dentists, naturopaths, general practitioners and orofacial myologists, with the aim of supporting optimal function, self-regulation and the body’s natural capacity for healing.

Bec’s services sit alongside the Holistic Smiles Kids program rather than inside it: where Dr. Phillip Stein feels a child may benefit from cranial work, the family is referred to her directly.
