About Dr. Phillip Stein

Dr. Phillip Stein graduated in dentistry from the University of Sydney in 1985 and has been in practice for close to forty years. Early in his career he spent time working in a high-volume NHS practice in the UK, an experience that convinced him good dentistry simply cannot be rushed. He has built every practice since around the opposite idea: fewer patients, more time, closer attention.

For the past decade that attention has increasingly turned towards children's airways. Dr. Phillip Stein has trained extensively in growth guidance and functional orthodontics, including a mini orthodontic residency with Dr Derek Mahony, controlled archwire and orthopostural techniques, advanced lightwire functional orthodontics in Toronto, and a residency at the Centre for Neural Occlusion in Arkansas. He completed further training in myofunctional approaches to malocclusion and breathing disorders, and in laser tongue-tie release.

Alongside clinical work he lectures on clear aligner therapy across Australia and New Zealand, holds a Fellowship of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and serves as Australian ambassador for Dental Volunteers International. He has treated underprivileged children on volunteer placements overseas and looked after athletes at the Sydney Olympic Village in 2000.

Dr. Phillip Stein practises in Bondi Junction and sees Holistic Smiles Kids families for their in-person assessment.
